UK Agrees to Return Remains of Nehanda, Kaguvi to Zimbabwe

British authorities have approved the repatriation of remains belonging to First Umvukela heroes, including revered liberation icons Nehanda, Kaguvi, Chief Chinengundu Mashayamombe, and Chief Chingaira Makoni.

The remains, taken to Europe as war trophies during the 1890s anti-colonial uprisings, will be returned following decades of diplomatic pressure from Zimbabwe.
