The speech delivered by the Head of State from the National Shrine today marks the dawn of a new era, characterized by an economy-centered approach to national development. In fact, there is a clear progression from old rhetoric toward enhancing the gains of the liberation struggle through practical solutions that benefit the entire nation. Every nation follows its own route toward development, and Zimbabwe is no exception as it unveils its unique roadmap.
While minor setbacks and errors may occur along the journey, they can be corrected without losing sight of the primary goal. “Zimbabwe will no longer export raw natural resources. We are in a new era of localized value addition, beneficiation, industrialization, and manufacturing.
This is seeing our economy broaden the range of domestic industries, opening up more jobs and generating higher value from export earnings. New heroes and heroines are sprouting in the mining sector. However, this should never be at the expense and detriment of future generations,”read part of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s address at the National Heroes Acre.
