Chongwe receives ballot papers

Distribution of ballot papers in Chongwe District has commenced ahead of Thursday’s 2026 General Elections. The exercise is being conducted in Chongwe West and Chongwe East constituencies under the supervision of election officials and in the presence of election stakeholders. Chongwe District Electoral Officer (DEO), Damson Mukwato earlier briefed election agents ahead of the verification of the ballot papers for the forthcoming elections.

He urged election agents to actively participate in the verification exercise and ensure that they adhere to established electoral procedures throughout the process. ” Strict adherence to electoral procedures is important in ensuring that the verification exercise is conducted smoothly and transparently,” he said. He further called on all stakeholders to cooperate with election officials to ensure a credible and peaceful electoral process as the country prepares to hold the 2026 General Elections.
