Law enforcement in Alexandra has launched multiple investigations after three bodies were discovered in separate incidents over four days,reportsAlex News. The first body was discovered on August 3, when police found the body of Molatelo Segata, who had earlier been reported missing, underneath a bed at a house on 18th Avenue. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mpho Tshetlhane confirmed that a murder case was opened following the discovery, and that a suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Segata’s partner, Thulani Sajini, appeared before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on August 5, facing charges in connection with her murder. His case was postponed to August 11. Tshetlhane said investigations are continuing.

Just days after Segata’s body was found, another woman was discovered dead along Watt Avenue, near the informal trading stalls in the Pan Africa Shopping Centre precinct. Reports suggest the woman, said to trade in the area, collapsed and died near her stall early on August 6. Tshetlhane later confirmed that Alexandra Police Station had opened an inquest docket in relation to the incident.
