During the meeting, AfDB President Sidi Ould Tah reaffirmed his intention to visit Mozambique later this year to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s financing needs and their link to the new financing architecture being developed by the Bank.
For her part, Finance Minister Carla Loveira informed the AfDB President about the meeting she had held with the institution’s Director General regarding the new Lusophone Hub [Pólo Lusófono] approach and reaffirmed the joint position of Mozambique and Angola on the matter. The Minister said the new Lusophone Hub would strengthen coordination, enhance the visibility of Portuguese-speaking countries within the Bank, improve its capacity to respond to their needs, and create opportunities for national professionals to join the AfDB.
