Fastjet Zimbabwe Airbus A320 arrival in Victoria Falls, expand country’s airlift capacity and regional connectivity

Enhanced Air Connectivity continues to drive Zimbabwe’s Tourism growth, in line with the vision of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde. Mnangagwa, to modernise Transport infrastructure and position the country as a globally competitive Destination under Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2). This commitment was reaffirmed with the arrival of Fastjet Zimbabwe’s Airbus A320 in Victoria Falls, expanding the country’s airlift capacity and regional connectivity.

Representing the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, the Deputy Minister Hon Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa said the Investment reflects growing confidence in Destination Zimbabwe while enhancing access through the Victoria Falls–Johannesburg and Harare–Johannesburg routes. The introduction of the 168-seat aircraft is expected to boost Tourists arrivals, improve travel convenience and support the growth of key Tourism clusters, including MICE, Sports, Nature and Wildlife, Culture and Heritage and Religious Tourism.The Deputy Minister noted that Tourism and Aviation are mutually reinforcing sectors, with every additional seat creating opportunities across the Tourism value chain. He also reaffirmed Government’s commitment to improving Airport infrastructure and collaborative destination marketing ahead of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo 2026 in Masvingo, describing the investment as another milestone in enhancing Zimbabwe’s Tourism competitiveness.
