Mozambique: Emergency power interruption in several areas of Maputo province for repairs to the high-voltage transmission line

The outage affects the neighbourhoods ofMuhalaze, Ngolhosa, Mukapana, Mukhatini, Intaka, Mapandane, Primeiro de Maio, Ndlavela, Samora MachelandKhongolote, as well as parts ofBoquisso, Chiboene, MaliandPessene. EDM said the technical interventions are essential to repair the fault and restore the safety and reliability of the electricity system. The works are expected to continue until the end of the day.

As a safety precaution, all electrical installations should be regarded as remaining live at all times. EDM apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers in the affected areas and to the general public.
