Horror as water tanker runs over person in Durban

One person has died after being run over by an eThekwini Municipality water tanker in Ward 96, eMbumbulu, Durban, on Monday morning. The municipality confirmed the incident, describing it as a tragic event and extending condolences to the family and community of the deceased. Police have opened a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The eThekwini Municipality has noted with deep sadness a fatal incident involving a municipal water tanker in Adams Mission. One person lost their life” Municipal officials said they are co-operating fully with police investigations and have also initiated internal processes. “As the matter is under investigation, the municipality is not in a position to comment on the circumstances that led to the incident.” The statement added that a municipal team has been deployed to Adams Mission to provide support to the bereaved family. The municipality has also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing footage of the incident, urging residents to respect the dignity of the deceased and their loved ones.
