Mozambique’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estêvão Pale, on Thursday launched the Conference on Value Addition Based on Available Mineral and Energy Resources (CAVAME-d), which will take place from 19 to 24 October in Nacala, Nampula province. CAVAME-d aims to bring together the Government, investors, operators, universities, research centres, financial institutions and cooperation partners, with the goal of transforming the country’s available potential into local development projects. Estêvão Pale said that the conference would offer concrete investment opportunities.
“We will present project packages based on available minerals for local processing, driving industrialisation, innovation, employment and prosperity,” the minister said. Investment opportunities in logistics, infrastructure and specialised aviation services to support the hydrocarbons sector will also be presented. The CAVAME-d programme also includes the Nacala Gem Fair (FAGENA). FAGENA event will host the country’s first international gemstone auction, bringing together producers, buyers and investors while adding value to the country’s mineral resources before they are exported.
