According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the works are progressing well. “We have noted with satisfaction the progress of the works being carried out by the contractor, as well as the work being undertaken on the road providing access to the N1. We are satisfied with the work, and the assessment is positive,” Transport and Logistics Minister João Matlombe said.

On the Marracuene-Zimpeto section of the N1, Revimo is upgrading the public lighting system. According to Matlombe, the project will meet the needs of road users and help reduce road traffic accidents. Regarding congestion on some of the roads managed by Revimo, Matlombe said: “There is still work to be done, particularly at the roundabouts, to see how we can ease congestion, especially during peak hours.

“Revimo is paying close attention to the issue and already has a work plan in place. We believe that, depending on the financial resources and time available, these interventions will be carried out to ensure the road meets the expectations of municipal residents, particularly those living in the urban areas.” The Minister of Transport and Logistics also visited the N203, where Revimo is constructing a drainage channel to reduce flooding affecting homes near the road and a nearby school.
