Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi has announced the suspensions of Investigating Directorate Against Corruption’s (IDAC) chief investigator, Dylan Perumal, senior investigator Brian Padayachee and investigator Suneel Bellochun. The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption’s (IDAC) chief investigator, Dylan Perumal, has been suspended by Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi. Kubayi announced his suspension along with that of senior investigator Brian Padayachee and investigator Suneel Bellochunduring a media briefing held yesterday.
Kubayi announced his suspension along with that of s enior investigator Brian Padayachee and investigator Suneel Bellochun The minister said that Perumal, due to his position, was placed on suspension by her while the suspensions of Padayachee and Bellochun were dealt with by National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), Advocate Andy Mothibi. She said the suspensions were pending disciplinary processes. Kubayi said several measures were being taken tostabilise IDAC) following the resignation of its former head, Advocate Andrea Johnson and serious allegations being raised at the Madlanga Commission. Johnson resigned after weeks of intense scrutiny over her testimony before the commission which is investigating allegations of corruption and interference within the criminal justice system.
