The Information and Data Protection Commission (IDPC) found that the system did not fully comply with the country’s Data Protection Act, forcing the government to complete a series of corrective measures before restoring the service. The decision follows a determination and enforcement order issued by the Commission, which reviewed the portal’s handling of employees’ personal information. In a recent statement dated July 22, 2026, the Directorate explained the shutdown was a precautionary measure to ensure the portal fully complies with the requirements of the Data Protection Act No.
