Addressing the BPP leadership forum in Francistown on Saturday, Molapise told party members that the BPP’s participation within the UDC remains critical as the coalition seeks to deliver on its mandate in government. He said the forum provided an opportunity for members to reflect on the coalition’s direction and assess policies that are either benefiting or failing Batswana. Furthermore, Molapise said all UDC affiliate parties have a responsibility to evaluate their contribution to the coalition and recommend policy changes where necessary.

He said policies that are not producing the desired outcomes for citizens should be reviewed or discarded in favour of more effective alternatives. According to Molapise, the coalition can only succeed if its member parties remain active, united and willing to contribute ideas that advance the interests of the country. At the same time, he stressed that each affiliate must retain its organisational strength and political identity.

For decades, the Francistown-Nata road has witnessed countless accidents, many of them fatal. Families have lost loved ones.
