President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday accepted the immediate resignation of Adv. Andrea Johnson as investigating director of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC). President Cyril Ramaphosa has accepted the immediate resignation ofAdvocate Andrea Johnsonas head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), the Presidency confirmed on Monday.

The Presidency confirmed that she had vacated office in a media statement on Monday. “President Cyril Ramaphosa has in terms of section 12(8)(a) of the National Prosecuting Authority Act of 1998 accepted the request by Adv. Andrea Johnson, the Investigating Director of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), to vacate office with immediate effect,” Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said.

He said Ramaphosa’s decision followed a recommendation by Kubayi, supported by Mothibi, that Johnson’s request be granted. Johnson directed her request for an immediate release from office to the National Director of Public Prosecutions and President Ramaphosa.” Magwenya said Ramaphosa thanked Johnson for her years of service in the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and as head of IDAC.
