A resident of Mpande Village in Chief Makasa of the Bemba people of Mungwi District of Northern Province has expressed happiness with progress made on the construction of the Chief’s palace. Henry Bwalya, says the initiative by the government to construct a chief’s palace is a milestone for the traditional leadership and the people of Mpanda Constituency.Speaking in an interview with the media, Mr Bwalya also expressed happiness over the workmanship exhibited by the contractor.He praised government for constructing the modern infrastructure which he said has not only changed the face of the area, but also will provide decent accommodation for the chief.“We are happy to have this beautiful infrastructure in our area, the first of its kind for our Chief here in Makasa area, it is commendable that government is building chief’s palaces not only here but also other parts of the country,” Mr Bwalya said.
