Bubble strengthens services with two data centers in Mozambique

Cloud computing service provider Bubble will begin operating with two availability zones, located in Maputo City and Beluluane, Maputo Province, southern region. The initiative aims to guarantee greater security and business continuity for corporate IT systems, ensuring that data and applications remain hosted within Mozambique. According to the company’s Business Development Director, Cameron Smith, Bubble is the first provider licensed by the National Information and Communication Technology Institute (INTIC) under the advanced category.

The company provides cloud infrastructure services, data backups, disaster recovery solutions, and other technological services. Smith was speaking this Wednesday during BFSI Mozambique 2026, held within the framework of the Digital Transformation and Interoperable Financial Ecosystem Forum. On the occasion, he explained that an availability zone is an independent data center built to operate autonomously.

In the event of a failure at one location, services can continue operating from the second infrastructure, mitigating the risk of downtime. He added that having two availability zones allows organizations to distribute their systems and data across different physical locations, boosting security, service availability, and disaster response capability. The director also highlighted that the project seeks to encourage greater hosting of applications and data within Mozambican territory, contributing to the strengthening of the country’s digital sovereignty.
