Following a devastating drought last year that left 7.6 million Zimbabweans food insecure, the FAO and WFP have officially removed Zimbabwe from the global hunger hotspot list. The improved food security is attributed to successful coordinated relief efforts.
One FAO spokesperson noted, “Sustained recovery efforts paid off.” However, emergency workers urge continued vigilance: “Preparation must remain a priority,” said a stress analyst.
