Maria ChiguvariZimpapers Arts and Entertainment HubFans have expressed mixed reactions over South African musician Young Stunna’s “heartfelt” apology after he missed a show at the weekend, triggering a violent end to what had been a decent gig.Some fans are not buying his apology, calling it fake.Young Stunna’s apology came after a video of his fans throwing bottles at the stage surfaced on social media.“Posting your cancellation after the show is crazy when fans have been waiting since 1pm for you You hate Zimbabwe.“Mind you, you had many opportunities to notify us of your absence but decided to be quiet about and then tell us when you saw an angry crowd,” said an angry fan.Over the weekend, Young Stunna pulled a no show at Fiesta Fiesta which led to an ugly scenes.His absence led to a chaotic scene at the event, with some fans reportedly throwing bottles and damaging property in frustration at being short-changed by promoters.Young Stunna was scheduled to perform at the Fiesta Fiesta event alongside Sha Sha but did not appear due to an “unforeseen family emergency”.“It is with much regret that we announce the postponement of my performances this weekend scheduled for 8th – 10th August 2025 due to an unforeseen family emergency.“We understand this may have caused great inconvenience for the promoter, their sponsors as well as the fans / supporters, therefore we truly apologies.”Fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment and frustration with the situation.“I don’t know why Zimbabwean promoters keep bringing South African artists They always use us shame If even you came back, you won’t have a peaceful performance, you should keep that in mind,” said another fan.“This one and missing flights

Why didn’t you come to Zimbabwe with the turn up that was there As your fans we are really disappointed in you, the least you could have done was to tell us that you had an emergency not wait for our reaction.”While some have criticised Young Stunna for not providing adequate notice, others have shown understanding and support for the artist.“If it is true that you have an emergency all the best.”This is not the first time Young Stunna has faced challenges with his fans in Zimbabwe.In 2023, the Adiwele hitmaker was scheduled to perform at the Shorts and Shades event in Bulawayo but he did not show up.In his defence, he was forced to cancel a show due to issues with his crew’s clearance.Angered by his no-show the crowd decided to throw objects onto the stage.During that time a local DJ, Nizhe De Soul was forced to cut his set short.It is also allegedly that in 2022, he was hit with a bottle while performing live on stage in Zimbabwe.Despite these incidents, Young Stunna is a prominent figure in the Amapiano scene, known for his chart-topping hits like “Bopha” and “Adiwele”.Share on FacebookPost on XFollow usSave
