South Africans can expect a chilly day on Wednesday. South Africans can expect another chilly winter’s day on Wednesday, with cold mornings and cool daytime temperatures continuing across much of the country, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS). The weather service says conditions will remain mostly fine and cool, although colder and partly cloudy weather is expected over the western interior later in the week.
SAWS has also encouraged South Africans to share photos showing what winter looks like in their areas, including frost, misty mornings and frozen windscreens. Cold mornings across inland provinces with fine and cool weather for most parts of the country. Mild coastal conditions along KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape and partly cloudy weather developing over western interior regions Johannesburg is expected to reach only 17°C, while Bloemfontein will once again see near-freezing morning temperatures at around 3°C.
The warmest daytime temperatures are expected in Upington 23°C, Durban 22°C and East London 22°C. Cape Town will remain relatively mild at around 20°C, with stable winter weather expected in the Western Cape. According to SAWS, conditions could become more unsettled from Thursday into Friday, with partly cloudy and colder weather over the western interior and isolated to scattered rain and thundershowers possible in some areas.
