Two-time Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Peabo Bryson, best known for his Disney hit duetsBeauty and the BeastandA Whole New World, has died at the age of 75. His family announced that Bryson passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. The singer had allegedly suffered a stroke days earlier, although no official cause of death has been released.
In a statement, the family described Bryson’s voice as “the soundtrack to some of life’s most cherished moments” and thanked fans around the world for their support. Bryson enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades, releasing 20 albums and becoming one of R&B’s most celebrated balladeers. He won Grammy Awards for his duets with Celine Dion onBeauty and the Beastand Regina Belle onA Whole New World, songs that became defining Disney classics of the 1990s. Beyond his Disney success, Bryson was known for hits such asIf Ever You’re in My Arms Again,Tonight, I Celebrate My Loveand collaborations with artists including Roberta Flack and Natalie Cole.
