Three killed in Bonteheuwel drive-by shooting, including an innocent man

Emergency services on scene where three people were shot in Bonteheuwel. Three men were killed in a drive-by shooting in Bonteheuwel on Wednesday evening in what is believed to be a gang-related incident. The shooting occurred on the corner of Kiaat Avenue and Jakkalsvlei Street about 7.30pm.

Two of the victims, aged 29 and 38, were declared dead at the scene after sustaining gunshot wounds to their upper and lower bodies. The third man, 22, sustained injuries to his body and was rushed to the nearest medical facility where he succumbed to his wounds on Thursday. The shooting follows fears of retaliation after an alleged Americans gangster was gunned down earlier in the week. According to Ward Councillor Angus McKenzie, at least one of the deceased was an innocent man.
