First Quantum Minerals (FQM) has partnered with the upcoming Solwezi Motor, Mining and Agriculture (MMA) Expo 2026, in a move expected to strengthen Zambia’s mining value chain and stimulate industrial growth in North-Western Province. According to a statement issued to the media by FQM, the Expo, organised by Lusaka Happening, will bring together key players from the mining, transport, agriculture, energy, finance, heavy equipment and infrastructure sectors on a 20-acre exhibition platform in Solwezi. In the same statement, FQM Corporate Affairs Superintendent, Ryan Ellis, said the company is proud to support an initiative that showcases the potential of Zambia’s mining sector.

“At First Quantum Minerals, we are proud to support the Solwezi MMA Expo 2026, a platform that reflects the strength, innovation, and immense potential of Zambia’s mining sector,” he said. Mr Ellis added that the Expo goes beyond being a business event, describing it as a catalyst for long-term economic and industrial transformation. “This is far more than an event; it is a powerful engine for economic growth, knowledge exchange, and sustainable industry development,” he stated.

The statement also disclosed that the Expo is expected to attract thousands of professionals, investors, contractors and procurement teams from across Zambia and the region, creating opportunities for business linkages, technology transfer and investment. The statement read in part that the event will feature live exhibitions of heavy machinery, transport solutions, solar systems, industrial technologies, pumps and financial services tailored to support mining and industrial operations. And in the same statement, the Lusaka Happening said the Expo is designed to create a “choice ecosystem” where mining companies and suppliers can engage directly, compare solutions and explore innovations aimed at improving efficiency and productivity in the sector.
