The family of Egan Sampson is seeking justice after their innocent son was brutally murdered earlier this year, with the father claiming that, until now, there has been no progress in the case. Sampson, 24, from Parow Valley, was out with his friends when he was gunned down in Denton Street, Ravensmead, at around 2am on January 31, 2026. His father, James Sampson, said a friend informed the family that Egan was shot and claimed that when they went back for him, he was gone.
The father later had to identify his son’s body at Tygerberg Hospital, as he came in as an “unknown”. The dad explained: “Egan was at the wrong place at the wrong time. They were moving around in Ravensmead when they got accosted and robbed, and the result is him being shot.
“According to the undertaker, he was shot about six times. Egan was not a gangster. “We have accepted that it happened and are dealing with his passing.
