The South African Police Service (SAPS) Political Killings Task Team has called on Fadiel Adams to hand himself in at his nearest police station in connection with charges of fraud and defeating or obstructing the course of justice. Police added that they have a J50 warrant of arrest for Adams. The warrant relates to allegations that he interfered with an ongoing investigation into the murder of former ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa.

Arrangements had been made with his legal representative for him to hand himself over at Cape Town Central Police Station on Monday, May 4, 2026, but he failed to do so. Adams was also expected to appear before a KwaZulu-Natal court on the same day, but did not attend.
Despite repeated attempts to contact his legal representative, SAPS said Adams has not made himself available to authorities. Police have urged him to cooperate and hand himself over without further delay.
