Revamped and re-vitalised from the 2023 iteration, the Omoda C5 has landed in Mzansi with 165kW powertrain and 1 000km range. The 2026 edition is a big step up in so many ways from the previous model. The hybrid SUV expands the local lineup as the latest electrified model, combining a turbocharged 1,5-litre engine with an electric motor.
And just within the launch period of four weeks, the aesthetically good looking SUV is selling at R469 900 but increases to R479 900. The SUV is aimed at families for multiple uses. Monday to Friday might be to drop off the kids at school and the weekends aimed to load up the luggage, golf bags etc., and head out for an adventurous run.
Worried about the fuel consumption? On its launch test, the admirable C5 returned a usage of a frugal 4,9l/ 100km, thanks largely to this being a Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Imagine this: A driving range of 1 000km.
