WATCH | Msunduzi Easter tournament wraps up with surprise finalists

The annual Msunduzi Municipality Mayoral Easter Tournament concludes today at Northdale Stadium, bringing to an end four days of competition involving 36 teams. The tournament kicked off on Friday, with teams battling through multiple rounds to reach the finals. In a first for the event, Msunduzi Mayor Mzimkhulu Thebolla’s own team, Three Stars FC, has qualified for the final.

They will face Babutho FC in the main decider later on Monday. In the women’s division, Edendale Technical High School will take on uMshwathi Future Stars. Thebolla said the tournament had produced unexpected finalists. “These are not the teams many people expected to see in the finals, which has made this year’s tournament particularly exciting,” said Thebolla.
