Faith in the Second Republic: DANet Leads The Eastern Highlands’ Spiritual Surge for CAB 3

In the shimmering heat of the Eastern Highlands, where the mountains of Mutare stand as silent sentinels of faith, a profound spiritual and political convergence took place this past Friday. More than 300 pastors from across the Manicaland province gathered under the banner of the Destiny of Afrika Network (DANet), transforming the city into a crucible of collective resolve.

Their mission? To cast their spiritual weight behind Constitutional Amendment Bill 3 (CAB 3).

The atmosphere was electric, charged with the rhythmic cadence of prayer and the resolute conviction that the destiny of the church is now inextricably linked to the visionary leadership of the Second Republic.

The Visionary and the Vineyard

At the heart of this assembly stood Rev. Dr. Obediah Musindo, the President and Founder of DANet.

With the fiery eloquence of a man who sees the intersection of the celestial and the terrestrial, Dr. Musindo framed the support for CAB 3 not merely as a political gesture, but as a strategic alignment for the prosperity of the faithful.

“President Mnangagwa is a visionary who values Christians and their leaders,” Musindo declared. “He is a listening President, ordained by God for a specific mandate, just as David—a politician, not a priest—was given the wisdom to lead a nation.”

The “light” for the Christian community, as described by the DANet leadership, is manifesting in tangible, earthly blessings:

• Mobility for the Gospel: The distribution of buses and vehicles to church leaders to ease the burden of ministry.
• The Sanctuary of State: The unprecedented invitations to State House for national prayers, signaling a bridge between the pulpit and the palace.
• Dignity through Ownership: A target of over 50,000 residential stands for church leaders, aiming to heal the historical wounds of landlessness among the clergy.
  Title Deeds: The Promised Land
  For decades, many Zimbabwean Christians have wandered in a wilderness of tenure insecurity. The Presidential Title Deeds Scheme was presented as the modern-day “Canaan”—a land of milk, honey, and legal certainty.
  Dr. Musindo challenged the gathered clergy to recognize the hand of providence in development, stating:

“Let all Pastors have one prayer: that by the time President Mnangagwa fulfills his Vision 2030 of an upper-middle-income economy, I must have land with title deeds. If you cannot support a leader doing wonders through development, who else will give you this security?”

Biblical Foundations of Stewardship and Authority
The convergence in Mutare was anchored in the scriptural belief that authority is divinely appointed and that development is a fruit of righteous stewardship.

The pastors reflected on several key scriptures to justify their stance:

• Romans 13:1: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
• Jeremiah 32:44: “Fields will be bought for silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed and witnessed… because I will restore their fortunes, declares the Lord.”
• Proverbs 29:2: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.” A Covenant for the Future

As the sun set behind the granite peaks of Manicaland, the declaration was clear: the clergy see CAB 3 as the “avenue” through which the church will secure its physical and financial future.

By backing the amendment, these leaders believe they are positioning their congregants to be first-class citizens in a developing economy.

In the eyes of the Manicaland pastors, the support for the President is a recognition of a “Prayer-Warrior-in-Chief,” a leader whom Dr. Musindo claims “holds fastings more than some of the pastors here.”

The message from Mutare was a clarion call to the faithful: to embrace the existing systems of development and to see the progress of the nation not just through the lens of politics, but as a divine unfolding of a prosperous Zimbabwe.
