Co-headliner Driemo threw his ‘Joker’ before Onesimus pledged a ‘Motorola’ during the Magician Butter Music Experience show at Comesa Hall in Blantyre on Saturday night. The story may have ended there, but nay! There was more to the night that needed to be savoured, an experience to be enjoyed and a story to be re-told someday.

The two headline acts of the night generated enough excitement and the size of the patronage demonstrated how much people were looking forward to the show. The organisers went all the way to transform the outlook of the spacious venue. The VIP section was well-demarcated and decorated with tables spread around.

The entry point for the VIPs was also strategically separated from the normal entry point, an arrangement that made life easy for everyone. The Comesa Hall may not be the best venue in terms of music performances as it offers little support to the acoustics, but the performers on the night tried to give it their best to beat that structural challenge. The Makasu Band were the first live performers and they seized the moment by dishing out some of the classics done by the original Makasu Band and in the latter years Bright Nkhata.
