I quote Farouk Araie’s letter inThe Witnesson March 26: “The brutality of these wars [in the world’s conflict zones] is a grim reminder of Dresden during World War 2. The fight for control is a cruel battle of vicious attrition, where every inch of rubble is paid for in spilt blood, smashed bones and wasted lives.” Farouk Araie, Mohamed Saeed and Omar Parak who are regular writers inThe Witness, have helped me rip aside the dark veil of cruel inhumanity, deception and indifference in our prevailing global turmoil. Part of our global turmoil is that the attitudes of indifference and heartlessness of many nations, organisations and individuals, are a regrettable encapsulation of the weakness of the constitution of the United Nation Security Council and the U.S.’s impotent constitution and Congress.
