Police in Kalulushi have arrested a 39-year-old Kalulushi Municipal council employee who is alleged to have indecently assaulted his two biological daughters. Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Mwala Yuyi confirmed the development to the media Kalulushi in an interview. Mr Yuyi said Philip Zulu of house number 43 Zambezi Road Kalulushi was arrested on March 10, 2023.

He said the incident occurred between February 21, 2026 at unknown time and March 3rd 2026 around 19:00 hours in a council police motor vehicle in Kalulushi. He said the complainant who is the mother Anita Mwale 31 of house number 2 Mposamabwe Kalulushi reported the case to police. Mr Yuyi identified the two girls as Keiza Christin Zulu aged 9 and Thandiwe Faith Zulu aged 2 years of the same abode and details were indecently assaulted by their biological father Philip Zulu aged 39 years of house number 43 Zambezi Road causing each of them to sustain a painful vagina.

He said brief facts of the matter are that on March 3, 2026 the complainant was bathing the victims Keziah Christine Zulu and Thandiwe Faith Zulu and she observed some sore on their vagina. Mr Yuyi noted that the mother then asked them how the sores came about and they revealed that their biological father had been inserting his fingers into their vaginas in a council police motor vehicle on several occasions. A docket has been opened and the victim is currently in police custody.

The two young girls mentioned are minors, and their names should not have been made public. I am unsure of the laws in Zambia regarding minors in these situations.

In the UK, a reporter would not disclose the names of minors up to 16 years old, while in the United States, the age is 18. Osaonongela bafana life.Even in South Africa below 16 is minor. Although the law won’t lock you up if you identify the victim. However journalists don’t disclose
