Finca Malawi yesterday unveiled a K100 million season-long sponsorship for the Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League Premier Division. The financial services company has comes in barely a few days after previous sponsors Rab Processors Limited, through ThumbsUp brand, announced they were not renewing sponsorship after six seasons. He said K16.1 million has been allocated to prizes with the eventual champions set to get K8 million and runners-up K3 million.
There are also prizes for teams that will finish between third and eighth positions and individual performers. “This is more than a sponsorship but a strong partnership. Football Association of Malawi president Fleetwood Haiya commended Finca Malawi for choosing football as a carrier for their brand.
“The impact that this sponsorship will bring is beyond football sponsorship or partnership as it will transform both football and lives of many people. Thanks for trusting football to be the vehicle for your brand to ride on,” he said.
