Multiple school pupils are being treated for breathing difficulties at a school on Major Culvert close to central Durban on Thursday morning. Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, said the incident is believed to be linked to a gas leak at a neighbouring property.
“Paramedics are dealing with multiple casualties who are experiencing breathing difficulties,” said Jamieson. “ALS Paramedics are stabilising them, and more ambulances are on the way to the school to assist with transporting the pupils.” The eThekwini Fire Department is also on scene and is ensuring the area is safe for emergency personnel to operate.
