MAI TT is being praised for helping a woman, who was recently released from prison under the Presidential Amnesty, rebuild her life. The woman, only identified as Betty, was arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison. Her two brothers were also jailed for the same number of years.

They were arrested for stealing cattle from their village. When Betty was released from prison, Mai TT decided to assist her, and her children, as they try to rebuild their shattered lives. Mai TT revealed that the woman’s story had deeply affected her and it pushed her to act.

“My heart is heavy. I cannot just keep quiet about this situation because it has deeply touched me,” she said. Mai TT said although she normally avoids bringing people into her personal space, she felt compelled to help after learning about the children’s struggles.

“I have already found a place where Betty and her children can stay. “Honestly, these days I do not usually bring friends or other people into my home, but I could not leave the children like this,” she said. The comedienne also revealed that the children were left vulnerable after their father died and family disputes forced them out of their home.

Mai TT has called on the public to assist the family so that the children can eventually return to school and live better lives.
