A ZESA employee died at Kadoma General Hospital after being electrocuted by live power cables left bare in the aftermath of a transformer theft in West View suburb of the farming and mining city. Nicodemus Macharaga, 47, who worked in the loss control section, had gone as part of a team which was investigating the transformer theft. He was laid to rest on Sunday at his rural home in Gokwe-Nembudziya.

His friend, Emmanuel Bhero, said he received the tragic news from Macharaga’s workmate, who was at the scene when disaster struck. “I got a call from one of his workmates who was at the scene. “I went to inform his wife who was on duty at her workplace.
