Three men attempting to save a woman from a gender-based violence attack in Port Durnford were shot on Wednesday evening, reports theZululand Observer. One of the men died at the scene, while the second died in hospital on Thursday. The third victim is in critical condition, fighting for his life in hospital.
Kwazikwenkosi Dlamini, a ward councillor, described the incident as a tragedy, saying the men were good, hardworking community members who were against crime. “[One of them] was a ward committee member serving his community. We condemn this incident and we believe the perpetrators will be traced and brought to book,” he said.
