According toSANParks, the reconstruction is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.
This suspension bridge is a key feature of a 2kmhiking trail, which includes stable wooden paths and stairs suitable for visitors of all ages. The project involves demolishing and replacing all superstructures of the three bridges while rehabilitating the supporting substructures.
Deteriorated concrete will be removed and replaced using specialised repair mortars and protective coatings. Visitors will still have access to the park during the construction, as the work will be carried out in phases. Currently, Bridges 2 and 3 are closed and are scheduled to reopen on March 23.
