The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has reduced pump prices for Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and Jet A-1, citing the strengthening of the Kwacha against the U.S. The pump price of Petrol has been cut from K27.88 to K26.61 per litre, Diesel from K24.50 to K23.25, Kerosene from K22.24 to K21.06, and Jet A-1 from K23.80 to K22.39. ERB Board Chairperson, James Banda, confirmed the adjustments in a statement issued in Lusaka on Saturday.

Banda said that since the last price review on 31 January 2026, international oil prices had risen. “Petrol rose by 4.22 percent from US$67.47/bbl to US$70.32/bbl, Diesel increased by 7.85 percent from US$76.89/bbl to US$84.74/bbl, and Kerosene/Jet A-1 went up by 6.70 percent from US$78.68/bbl to US$83.95/bbl,” he said. He added that the Kwacha appreciated by 4.17 percent in February 2026, strengthening from an average of K19.80/US$ at the start of the month to K18.98/US$ by month-end.

“These prices shall come into effect at midnight on 28th February 2026 and will remain in effect until revised by the ERB,” Banda said.
