Full marks to Pirates for setting an example and arriving unusually early. Pirates secured yet another victory against Kaizer Chiefs in their latest league encounter. This triumph marks Pirates’ fifth consecutive league win over their arch-rivals, solidifying their current dominance in the country’s most-watched sporting contest.

Chiefs, however, scored a win over Pirates in last season’s Nedbank Cup final, which was Amakhosi’s first title in a decade. In the wake of a deeply disappointing performance on Saturday, co-coach Cedric Kaze has issued a heartfelt apology to fans, acknowledging the team’s lacklustre play and the fears that plagued the squad during the match.
