The Ministry of International Relations wishes to inform the public and all Botswana nationals residing in the Middle East (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) that it continues to monitor the ongoing attacks between the United States of America (USA), Israel and Iran. Botswana has around 300 nationals residing in the Middle East, with the majority (200) based in the United Arab Emirates, followed by Qatar. Accordingly, the Ministry of International Relations wishes to inform that explosions and air raid sirens have been heard in the above-mentioned countries.
The Ministry further wishes to inform that should the situation deteriorate, the available media platforms will be employed for further guidance relating thereto. Furthermore, Batswana are advised to avoid travelling to the affected countries and re-route their travel away from the Middle East airspace until the situation has calmed. Batswana in these countries are also requested to contact the Botswana Embassy in the State of Kuwait and the Botswana High Commission in London, or any Embassy nearby, for assistance.
