Iranian Grand Ayatollah declares jihad against USA, Israel

Iranian state media has confirmed the death of Khamenei following joint U.S.-Israeli military strikes. -/Iranian Supreme Leader’s Office/dpaAn influential Iranian cleric has called on Muslims worldwide to avenge the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.The Iranian state-run news agency Tasnim reported on Sunday that Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi had declared in a religious statement, or fatwa, that “the main perpetrators of this crime” were the United States and Israel.”Revenge is the religious duty of all Muslims in the world so that the evil of these criminals is eradicated from the Earth,” the fatwa continued.Makarem Shirazi indirectly threatened Donald Trump with death in June last year, when the US president said that Khamenei was “an easy target.”The grand ayatollah declared in a fatwa then that threats against Khamenei would be punished by death in Islam.Makarem Shirazi is one of the highest religious authorities in Twelver Shia Islam, which is Iran’s state religion.
