Sunday night’s live eviction saw KZN’s Langelihle “Ilano” Gumede leave the Big Brother Mzansi house after failing to secure enough viewer votes, confirming the season’s Top 10 and intensifying the race for the R2 million grand prize. As the remaining housemates bid Ilano an emotional goodbye, the reality of the tightening competition sank in. Ilano (23), a confident transgender woman, lit up the house with her striking style and undeniable presence.
Beneath the glamour was a thoughtful and compassionate contestant, always mindful of others and quick to uplift those around her. Her make-up skills and hair styling earned her a special place in the girls’ hearts. But as with every eviction this season, survival ultimately came down to viewer votes.
Even as the house processed Ilano’s departure, unresolved tensions continued to simmer beneath the surface. The confirmed Top 10 are Thandeka Tshabalala (30), Pantsi “Bravo B” Khumalo (28), Lindy “Trixie” Christoffels (35), Wanda “King Wanda” Gumede (31), Velile “Que” Nongogo (27), Mmeli Khumalo (27), Liyema “Liema” Pantsi (24), Didintle “Didi” Mothobi (21), Sihle “The Don” Sishe (24) and Ashay Sewlall (25). Meanwhile, what got tongues wagging this week was Ashay and Liema’s friendship, which now appears to be on shaky ground after a tense conversation about affection inside the house.

Liema questioned why Ashay avoided kisses, and he explained that he has a girlfriend outside the house. However, when he referenced Liema’s kiss with Tumi the Barber, an ex-housemate evicted last Sunday, things got messy and awkward, leaving her visibly emotional and feeling unfairly targeted.
