Tara Woodcox, the travel influencer who went viral recently for sharing a hack to wash your underwear in a coffee machine, shared that she is not getting sued and the lawsuit video is fake. Travel influencer Tara Woodcox is allegedly facing a $1 million (approximately R15 million) lawsuit after sharing atravel“hack” that includeswashing one’s dirty underwear in a coffee machine. In the video, Woodcox shared a step-by-step guide on how to wash your underwear using the coffeemaker’s ground compartment, then drying it using a bathroom hair dryer.
She added that it was a tip from a friend who is a flight attendant, and this trick is specifically for people who do not have enough underwear while travelling. However, after the video caused widespread outrage, Woodcox retracted her statement in the comment section by saying that she agrees that it is unhygienic and does not do it herself. According to multiple online reports and videos, Woodcox is now facing a $1 million lawsuit for damages/reputational harm from the hotel she was allegedly visiting at the time of making that video. There have also been claims that the hotel was forced to issue refunds to guests and also replace all the coffee makers in the hotel due to the lack of trust that guests now had.
