The way travellers plan trips is rapidly changing as major travel platforms integrate directly with ChatGPT, allowing users to search, compare and organise bookings without switching between multiple websites. In recent years, generative artificial intelligence has transformed how consumers search for information and interact with brands. Now, travel companies are embedding their services into ChatGPT through its Apps and Connectors ecosystem, turning the chatbot into a digital travel assistant.
Here are some of the major platforms leading the shift. Ground travel platform Busbud now allows users to search for coach and train tickets directly within ChatGPT. After linking accounts, travellers can ask for routes, compare operators, check live schedules and view pricing using simple natural language prompts.
The tool surfaces real-time availability and filters options based on preferences such as lowest price or onboard amenities. Bookings are finalised on Busbud’s secure website via a pre-filled link generated in the chat. Accommodation giant Booking.com has integrated its live inventory of hotels, apartments and holiday rentals into ChatGPT.

Users can describe destinations, travel dates and preferences — such as pet-friendly stays or proximity to landmarks — and receive tailored listings within the conversation. Property photos, guest ratings and live pricing appear in the chat interface. Users are then redirected to Booking.com’s secure site to complete payment.
Expedia’s integration brings flights, hotels and car rentals into the chat environment. Travellers can refine searches through follow-up prompts, request cheaper alternatives or filter by location and star rating. When a user is ready to book, ChatGPT provides a direct link to Expedia’s checkout page with search details pre-filled.
