Join the Africa Muslims Agency this Ramadaan to reconnect with purpose and make a difference in the lives of those in need across Africa. In a world divided by crisis and growing disconnection,Africa Muslims Agency(AMA) invites the community of South Africa to join us on a journey of Reconnection this Ramadaan. Ramadaan is a blessed month observed by Muslims worldwide and approximately 1.2 million Muslims in South Africa – through fasting from dawn to sunset, prayer, reflection and charity.
Fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drink; it is a spiritual practice that nurtures gratitude, empathy and self-discipline. Ramadaan is also known as a month of generosity. Muslims believe that acts of kindness carry multiplied reward during this time.
Small deeds — a plate of food, a grocery hamper, a drop of clean water — carry immeasurable weight. AMA encourages the community to reflect on the joy and purpose behind giving. AMA’s Ramadaan campaignfocuses on providing suhoor and iftar meals (the pre-dawn and sunset meals during the fast), grocery hampers, community iftars, clean water wells and orphan sponsorship in vulnerable communities across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
