Downdetector, a website that tracks user-reported issues, showed more than 25,000 people problems loading X on Monday afternoon between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tens of thousands of users also reported issues on Monday morning and reports on Downdetector shot up from 15 at 8:15 a.m.
to 40,313 as of 8:45 a.m. Half of those reporting cited problems in the site’s mobile app, with other complaints focused on timeline and desktop website access. X did not respond to Forbes’ request for comment on the outage, and its developer platform status page has stated all day that “all systems are operational” despite the reports. X experienced a brief outage that impacted thousands of users in January and last spring was hit with a wave of outages impacting tens of thousands that Musk blamed on a “massive cyberattack” with IP addresses that originated in Ukraine.
