Mozambique: LAM cancels flights due to Cyclone Gezani

LAM Mozambique Airlines announced yesterday that, due to adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Gezani, the following flights were cancelled for operational safety reasons: TM1822 – Maputo/Vilanculo/Xai-Xai/Maputo and TM120/121 – Maputo/Inhambane/Maputo. A LAM statement indicates that the decision was taken in accordance with strict international civil aviation safety standards, which place the protection of human life and the integrity of operations as the highest priority. LAM will continue to monitor weather updates issued by the competent authorities and maintain constant oversight of the cyclone’s development.

“As soon as conditions allow for the safe resumption of operations, LAM will proceed with the appropriate rebooking of the respective flights, ensuring that affected passengers are duly informed,” the document states. LAM further noted that passengers could opt to rebook for later dates without penalties or request a refund, in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.
