THE Morgan Zintech College lecturer accused of raping his student married another former student after his marriage collapsed over a row triggered by allegations of infidelity. Happiness Karengo made headlines this week when H-Metro exclusively revealed that he is on the run after allegedly raping his student in his office last year. Now, another bombshell has been dropped which shows that Karengo, an English teacher, had an affair with one of his students and later married her after his marriage collapsed.
Sources told H-Metro that his marriage collapsed because his wife, who has been identified as Florence, could no longer handle his infidelity issues. The marriage collapsed in 2024. That Karembo quickly married a former student has led to speculation that the two might have been lovers when the woman was still a student at the college.
“He has a history of dating students across various streams,” one lecturer noted. “At one point, he clashed with two officials over these interactions. One incident involved a female student who allegedly failed her exams after she distanced herself from Karengo, who had previously manipulated her academic standing.

“He would offer students a choice: cash or sexual favours for passing grades,” the official added. Once a devout member of a local church, reports suggest that Karengo has since strayed from his faith. Despite multiple attempts to reach him for a comment, Karengo kept hanging the calls and refused to respond when he was approached by H-Metro.
In a recent post in a students’ WhatsApp group, Karengo claimed that he now feels secure, following inquiries about his reaction to the ongoing allegations. “Sir are you safe, tinonetseka sevana venyuka; reads one of the messages following the publication of his sex scandal. Karengo is yet to cooperate with the police after his 39-year-old victim filed rape charges against him at Braeside Police Station under RRB 6473934.
