It was all glitz and glamour at Cresta Oasis Hotel in Harare on Wednesday evening as Kireni Zulu launched his Membwe Ine Bhachi album The Marabi star, who took to the stage clad in a graduation gown courtesy of an honorary diploma conferred to him by the Music Consultation Society of Zimbabwe for promoting visual and performance arts, left his audience spellbound with a rich blend of humour and social commentary Mhembwe Ine Bhachi, which loosely translates to a bushbuck with a coat, is the 11th album on Zulu’s discography Zulu gave the merrymakers a taste of the songs Ndashaya, Jongwe, Mhembwe, Nyarara, Baba Yoranda, Hatina Chedu, Choka and Ngonono off the album, grossing over US$2 000 in on-site copy and souvenir sales
Elder Lovemore Muzawazi, who presided as guest of honour on behalf of Prophet Paul Miracle, praised Zulu for his consistency in making Marabi Music one of the most preferred genres He added that the transmission of life skills such as music composition and instrumental performances are vital in uniting families as well as preparing children for their professional future.
