Tourism minister Rwodzi steps in to pacify ‘boob’ on traffic offence handed down on tourists, ZTA new czar Manyaya accompanies her

Harare- Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi has reached out and apologized to a group of tourists who one of them was wrongfully arrested in Chimanimani over a traffic related offence. The workaholic minister Rwodzi drove to Chimanimani and was joined by her subject the new ZTA chief executive technocrat George Manyaya in a move that shows open door policy and hands on approach by Minister Rwodzi. The tourist in question was accused of having three triangles instead of four which is an anomaly and not a violation of law at world standards.

In a statement, the tourist expressed his admiration for the country and its people and spoke of his positive experiences and the warmth of Zimbabwean hospitality. He explained that the “ZimBho” campaign had inspired his travels and that he has been documenting his journey to share with a global audience. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) also issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the arrest.

The police acknowledged that the arrest was a result of a misunderstanding and that the officer involved had acted overzealously. The ZRP expressed its regret for the incident and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and well being of all visitors to Zimbabwe. The statement emphasized that the police force is dedicated to upholding the law while also fostering a welcoming environment for tourists.
