PRESIDENT Mnangagwa’s participation at the World Governments Summit in Dubai has placed Zimbabwe firmly on the global stage, showcasing the country’s foreign policy, economic priorities and sovereign positioning within the comity of nations. The summit, which ran under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, brought together global leaders, policymakers and industry executives to explore innovative governance models and development pathways. President Mnangagwa, who was among world leaders invited to the prestigious gathering, took part in high-level panel discussions focusing on the future of governance, economic transformation, technological innovation and sustainable development.

The highlight came on Thursday when the President took part in a panel discussion titled “Is the Next Decade African?”, which was watched by close to 30 million viewers online. The discussion also featured Botswana and Sierra Leone Presidents Messrs Duma Boko and Julius Maada Bio, respectively. During the discussion, President Mnangagwa outlined Zimbabwe’s “friend to all and enemy to none” foreign policy, emphasising that the country conducts its international relations guided by what delivers the best outcomes for its people and resources. He reiterated that the land reform programme was rooted in justice and historical correction, stressing that land ownership in Zimbabwe was never based on race.
